Softphone Growth Surged by Voip Networks

By Saul Saresi

By 2017, the Enterprise Softphone market is predicted to reach a value of over $200 million and account for nearly 3 million units in volume sales. An immense figure indeed, which has been powered and pushed forward solely by the ever growing pervasiveness of Voip networks.

But what is is this 'Softphone' of which i hear you speak? Well, in its simplest terms it is not actually a phone at all - but can be thought of as being a piece of software which enables you to turn your computer into a phone and make calls via your internet connection.

And if thats not crazy enough for you then youll be pleased to know that Softphones can come in a variety of different formats from a USB phone - which looks and feels like a real phone but connects to your computer's USB - to a simple microphone and headset arrangement.

Although Softphones are not as yet an application to pose any serious threat to the use of desktop or mobile phones, their continued growth - in particular in the enterprise space - has been sizeable and consistent.

The enterprise workspace includes call centres - an area where Softphone rise is nothing short of phenomenal - where the advantages offered, such as the opportunity to remove all wired hardware requirements along with drastically increasing mobility, are just too great to overlook.

Another key factor in the rise of popularity is the rise in the mobile worker population which demands for mobile workers to be able to stay in touch with headquarters whilst out of the office. This has given rise to a new wave of enterprise mobility where organisations can allow their mobile employees to access the companies resources through remote access points via their Softphones.

At present, the latest findings published in the New Market Research Report on Enterprise Softphones show that although the US represents the largest regional market, Asia-Pacific is by far the fastest growing market in terms of both volume sales and revenue, growing at a rate of more than 19% & 13% respectively.

But all of this is by the by as the majority of consumers and businesses much prefer the use of a more conventional looking and operating phone upon which to conduct their business. And regardless of what your phone based preferences may be, remember that without a good quality service provider, everything else is irrelevant.

Is the Voip Marketplace Overly Saturated?

By Saul Saresi

Voice Over Internet Protocol has quickly risen above all competition to become the undisputed king in waiting of communication for both the business and residential world's alike, effortlessly mixing incredible audio quality and video transfer capabilities with unbelievable flexibility.

But because of the incredible advantages offered by Voice Over IP technologies, and the drastic uptake in people wanting to utilise Voip technologies, market saturation is a serious problem which service providers are taking very significant steps to research.

In 2010 the number of Voice Over IP subscribers (including over access lines and other broadband lines) hit 157 million - an increase of 12.6% - with the number of residential and SOHO providers growing 14% in 2011 to over 178 million. This number looks set to grow to over 270 million by 2015.

The most users belong to the USA, Japan and France respectively, with the UK languishing in 10th place - thanks in no small part to the somewhat lacking broadband ability.

In France and Japan, the introduction of fibre based broadband services have been the main driver behind adoption, with over 93% of broadband subscribers in France also having a Voice Over IP service, a statistic which has resulted in that particular segment to suffer from market saturation.

But regardless of when if and even why market saturation should ever occur, there are still many untapped markets just waiting to jump on the Voice Over IP bandwagon, and none-more-so than China, where in 2010 figures show just one bundled Voip package for every twenty subscription.

As well as this, mobile Voip usage is also growing at an incredible rate thanks to the ever increasing numbers of Smartphones on the market offering Voip services. In 2011 alone, active mobile Voip subscriber rates tripled to over 29 million from just 9 million in 2010.

And so there you have it. Some market sectors will, evidently, reach saturation point before others - but regardless of if and when that happens there will still be plenty left to go around. In the mean time, the only question that any business should be asking themselves is, do we have the best Voice Over IP service provider on the market? And if you've not yet considered that question, you need to step your game up.

2012 World Conference to Introduce New UN Telecommunication Regulations

By Saul Saresi

It's that time again, where large numbers of telecoms and ICT (Information and Communications Technology) companies are faced with the un-nerving prospect of a United Nations agency regulating fundamentally important aspects of the internet, as well as significantly increasing its jurisdiction over the ICT and telecoms industries.

The UN agency in question this time is the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a highly specialised agency created to focus solely on telecommunications and ICT over 100 years ago. The ITU has previously disclaimed any authority to regulate domestic communications, stating specifically in their constitution the: 'sovereign right of each state to regulate its telecommunication'.

Over 100 years ago the International Telecommunication Union was formed by the 'league of nations' (the predecessor to the united nations) with the sole purpose of focusing on the ever expanding ICT and telecommunications industries, ensuring that the regulations were kept in line with the advancement of associated technologies.

It seems, however, that over the years the balance has shifted considerably in favour of the latest technologies, with updates to regulations being made only very intermittently. Although the ITU has a vast range of responsibilities and tasks to perform, their regulations do not carry the weight of the law, even though many of their guidelines are adopted by most national level authorities.

At the forthcoming conference - which will take place in Dubai later this year - a significant treaty made in 1988 known as the International Telecommunication Regulations (ITRs) will be renegotiated.

As well as the ITRs playing a pivotal part in arranging and setting in place the necessary framework detailing international telecommunication transport and services, it also established the guidelines which have provided the foundation for mutual and private agreements between both countries and no-governmental organisations.

An overhaul of the ITRs has long been on the cards, and although any alterations made will not become law, it is widely acknowledged that any decisions made at the conference will play a big part in the way internet and telecommunications are regulated internationally over the coming years.

Whatever changes are deemed fit to be introduced, and however much opposition there may be towards them, the telecoms industry can count itself lucky that it has been able to avoid a re-assessment of its' guidelines for so long. And maybe there can be some comfort taken from the fact that whatever guidelines are introduced, the future of Voip is incredibly bright and will only continue to grow for the foreseeable future, meaning there will be no lack of new customers any time soon.

Necessary Things To Remember When Choosing A TV Antenna

By Carolyn J. Dale

1. Pay attention to the stations which you can access in your area

You could use the web and locate companies that offer antenna services. If you are in one of those websites, you will be required to type in your postal code and street address. You will also be required to validate your locality. After this, you may print the list which you could find at the bottom part of your computer monitor. This is imperative if you choose any type of Aerials Leeds.

2. Try to look for the types of signals that should be obtained by your TV aerial.

Consider the checklist that you printed and find out if you can find high frequency or super high frequency. It is necessary that you should be particular to either of these kinds of signals with regards to your TV aerial. You do not need to waste time locating hd indoor antennas since these formats aren't actually needed in this particular aerial.

3. Figure out your antenna's wide variety of features.

Usually, the freesat aerial in leeds can get a great signal from several kilometers away. You will need to have an antenna that offers an av receiver if you want to get broadcasts coming from towers that are over 10 miles away.

Nonetheless, you'll be instructed to turn the aerial and rescan the TV when you switch channels. However, your signal will be steady for any paths when you've an omnidirectional TV aerial but you must expect its range to be lesser.

5. See if the antenna contains a Consumer Electronics Organization seal.

Antennas with performance being evaluated will have this particular stamp. The particular specs of these types of aerials should be consistent with its specific performance.
